Repbelt Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Repbelt is a workout and running tracker. This page explains what the app keeps, where it keeps it, and what leaves your phone. The short version: your training stays on your iPhone. Only if you create the optional friends account does a small summary go to our server, so friends and leagues work. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Repbelt is run by Nikolaos Maris, Greece, who is responsible for your data (the “controller” under the GDPR). Contact details are at the end of this page.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your workouts, sets, weights, runs (including GPS routes), plans, body weight, measurements and notes.
- Progress photos you take in the app. They are never uploaded.
- Your hero, your cosmetics, Sparks, missions and levels.
- Backups you make in the app are files on your phone that you choose where to keep.
If you use iCloud Backup for your iPhone, Apple may include this data in your device backup under Apple’s terms.
What leaves your phone (only with a friends account)
The friends account is optional. You create it by signing in with your email address. With it, these are stored on our server so your friends can see them and leagues and teams work:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | To sign you in (we send a sign-in link). Never shown to other people. |
| Your username and display name | So friends can find and recognise you. |
| Your hero’s look (hero, skin tone, hat, glasses), level, total XP and streak | Shown on your friends' screens and in leagues. |
| A summary of each workout or run: date, length, XP, number of sets, distance | For the friends league, teams and the season. No exercises, weights or routes. |
| Big moments from a workout or run, unless you turn them off: a new record (the exercise, weight and reps), a new rank or a streak milestone | Shown with that workout or run in your friends' feed. Settings, then Friends account, then Post big moments turns this off. |
| Your weekly goal (how many workouts or runs a week) | So friends and teammates see a tick when you reach it, and for the team streak. |
| Your best lift for each exercise (weight, reps, estimated one-rep max, date) | So friends can compare lifts with you. |
| Friend requests, friends and blocks; cheers, nudges and duels with friends | To run friends, the feed and duels. |
| Teams you create or join: the team name, emblem and a team photo if you add one | To run teams and the team league. |
| Your place in the World league and league prizes | To run the weekly leagues. |
| If you own the Founder Pack and send a name for the credits: that name and the signed App Store record of the purchase | To check the purchase before the name is shown. |
| Reports you send about a name or photo | So we can remove content that breaks our Terms of Use. |
Who sees what
- Friends you accept see your name, username, hero, level, streak, weekly goal, the summary of each workout or run with its big moments, your best lifts, and your cheers, nudges and duels with them.
- People in your World league group (up to 30 players at your level, friends or not) see your name, username, hero, level and weekly XP.
- Other teams and anyone with your team’s link see the team’s name, emblem, division and score. The team photo is shown only to the team’s members, from private storage.
- Anyone can see approved founder names in the app’s credits.
- Your email address is never shown to anyone.
Who stores it for us
- Supabase runs our server and database in the European Union (Ireland).
- Amazon Web Services (Simple Email Service) sends the sign-in emails.
- Apple handles purchases, Apple Health and Apple Music under Apple’s own privacy policy.
- GitHub hosts a few exercise photos the app downloads when you open those exercises, so GitHub sees your phone’s internet address.
They only process the data to run Repbelt, under data processing agreements.
Apple services and phone permissions
The app only asks for these when you use the feature, and you can turn each one off in iPhone Settings:
- Location: to map your runs and measure distance and pace, also while the screen is locked during a run. Routes stay on your phone.
- Motion: to estimate treadmill distance from your steps.
- Apple Health: to read your body weight and to save your workouts, runs and body weight to Health. Health data is never sent to our server or used for anything else.
- Apple Music: to control music during workouts and runs and to remember which songs you trained to (on your phone).
- Camera and Photos: to take progress photos (kept in the app) and to save share cards to your photo library.
What we don’t do
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- We don’t sell or share your data with anyone.
Crash reports
If the app closes by itself, iPhone keeps a crash report in the app (Settings, then Crash reports). It only reaches us if you choose to share it.
Feedback
If you use Send feedback in Settings, we get your message, the app version, your phone model and iOS version, and the email address if you add one for a reply. With a friends account it is linked to that account. We use it only to answer you and improve the app, and delete it when it’s no longer needed.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
- Server data is kept until you delete the friends account. Workout and run summaries older than 8 weeks are no longer uploaded.
- Friends account: in the app, go to Settings, then Friends account, then Delete account. This deletes your account and everything stored about you on our server straight away: your profile, summaries and best lifts, friends, cheers, nudges and duels, your league places, your credits name, and a team you were the only member of with its photo. If others are still in your team, it stays with them. Reports and feedback you sent are kept without your name. Copies in server backups are gone within 7 days.
- On your phone: delete a profile in the app, or delete the app. That removes everything it kept on your iPhone.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it’s used, by writing to the address below. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Repbelt isn’t directed at children under 13, and the friends account isn’t meant for them. If you think a child has made an account, write to us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Big changes will also be mentioned in the app’s update notes.
